Position Summary

OptionsHouse has an exciting opportunity for a User Interface Developer. We are a national online options and stock retail trading brokerage. Our company is aggressively expanding and looking for talented and experienced professionals to join us and be a part of our growing team.

This position develops front-end code that transforms XML in a web application. This person will work closely with the User Experience and Information Design team translating designs and wire frames. The ideal candidate will also possess strong technical skills to effectively communicate with the back-end developers.

Desired Candidate Attributes

• 2 + years of strong experience in HTML, CSS, XML, XSLT and basic UI – technologies specifically with regards to web-based application development
• 2 + years of strong experience in JavaScript and AJAX
• Multi browser/standards compliant code knowledge
• Passion for building consumer applications
• Experience with JSP a plus

Job Responsibilities

• Interpret business specs to produce technical design documents.
• Code and unit test application enhancements per technical design.
• Provide technical input to business areas as needed.
• Lead technical integration testing efforts and develop integration test plans.
• Use standard processes, procedures and tools to develop code.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Follow established programming standards, including naming conventions, formatting and program structure. May participate in development of standards.
• Use standard development tools, including editors, debuggers, version control, and bug tracking.
• Lead and participate in code reviews.
• Provide technical guidance to other team members.
• Accurately estimate own and others project work.
• Consistently deliver according to commitments and project plan dates.
• Provide forecasts (based on minimal information) for project planning purposes to project managers.
• Tune application code to meet performance goals (application responsiveness & reliability).
