OptionsHouse Launches "Risk Viewer" Tool
- First-of-kind Tool Provides Portfolio-wide, Real-time Risk Analysis
- Offers Views into Profit and Loss, Market Movement, and Greeks
- Sorts Positions by Industry, Expiration or Symbol
CHICAGO, February 7, 2007 - OptionsHouse, Inc. ("OptionsHouse"), a new retail brokerage firm, today launched an innovative new tool that enables customers to estimate potential risk in their portfolios in real-time on its online trading site, optionshouse.com. Named Risk Viewer, the tool provides customers with the ability to analyze their portfolios from three perspectives: position profit and loss, market movement, and options Greeks. Risk Viewer also provides views into individual positions -- which can be sorted by industry, expiration date, or symbol -- from these same perspectives.
"Risk Viewer represents yet another example of the power and the flexibility that OptionsHouse puts in the hands of our customers through our suite of innovative tools," says OptionsHouse co-CEO John Hass, an 18-year securities veteran and former partner at Goldman Sachs. "Like our other tools, Risk Viewer builds-in years of trading expertise and anticipates our users' needs. It enables customers to identify and address potential risk areas in their portfolios in just a few simple clicks."
Flexible and Intuitive Functionality For All Users
Risk Viewer's ability to provide multiple and customizable looks into a user's portfolio -- either portfolio-wide or position by position -- makes it especially valuable to OptionsHouse clients. For example, users are able to take a macroscopic look at their portfolio, drill down into individual positions for greater precision, and then initiate any trades they deem appropriate without having to exit the tool.
Risk Viewer Launch
OptionsHouse designed the tool for use by its retail customers and for institutional users such as hedge funds, active traders, portfolio managers, and proprietary trading firms.
"Risk Viewer further simplifies the process of risk evaluation and portfolio management for all of our users by integrating multiple analysis, idea generation and execution into one simple tool," explains Daniel Rosenthal, OptionsHouse co-CEO and former Chief Technology Officer for PEAK6. "It delivers a powerful yet intuitive functionality that is consistent with the clean, less-is-more philosophy that governs OptionsHouse."
OptionsHouse customers can launch Risk Viewer from the toolbar in the "Portfolio" section of their "Account" page, or from the Tools section of the OptionsHouse site. A brief tutorial for the tool can be found in the tools section of the site's Platform Overview function in Quick Start.
